Com o ano chegando ao fim, o The Game Awards 2023 destacou e apresentou alguns dos melhores jogos que a indústria tem a oferecer. À medida que os jogos continuam a crescer, surgiram outras formas de entretenimento e mídia, que o The Game Awards reconhece com prêmios como Criador de Conteúdo do Ano e Melhor Equipe de Esports.
Embora tenha havido algumas críticas notáveis, como a Hogwarts Legacy, a cerimônia refletiu as grandes tendências da indústria, chamando a atenção para os lançamentos que causaram o maior impacto e impulsionaram o meio. No que diz respeito a lançamentos notáveis, Baldur’s Gate 3 e Alan Wake 2 dominaram o The Game Awards deste ano, conseguindo oito indicações cada, incluindo Jogo do Ano.
A Nintendo também teve uma presença extremamente forte no evento, com The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom e Super Mario Bros. Por outro lado, o tão aguardado Starfield teve um desempenho inferior no The Game Awards, conseguindo uma única indicação para Melhor RPG, que perdeu para Baldur’s Gate 3.
